Alkaline water has a number of benefits for those who are pregnant and can help boost a healthy lifestyle, but there are some important things to know about what the different types of filtered water are and what they’re suitable for.

What is Kangen Water?

Kangen Water refers to a type of water that has been produced as a result of Enagic’s ionizer units. Also referred to more generically as alkaline water, Kangen Water has a great number of health benefits provided it’s used correctly.

There are 5 types of filtered water and each has their own specific properties:

Strong Acidic Water (pH 2.5)

Attributed with disinfectant qualities, this water is not for drinking and should be treated like any other cleaning products.

Ideally stored in dark containers, this acidic water is ideal for hygiene and cleanliness – but be careful when using it to clean metals as it is likely to cause corrosion.

Beauty Water (pH 4-6)

Although this type of water isn’t suitable for drinking, it does have a range of other benefits. Ideal for skin and hair care,  this acidic water is excellent for toning and firming the skin – especially if you’ve just shaved. You can also use it as an alternative to conditioner as it has the same detangling properties and adds an extra layer of shine.

Additional uses can include cleaning, polishing, pet care and even freezing food – a quick spray of this water before freezing will help to preserve flavours.

Clean Water (pH 7)

If you want to give your baby alkaline water, then this is perhaps the safest form of water for them to drink. Also suitable for using in a baby formula, this is a pure natural water suitable for drinking.

You should also use clean water for taking medication as the pH level of Kangen Water can have an effect on the medication. Don’t drink Kangen Water until at least 30 minutes after you have taken the medication.

Drinking Kangen Water (pH 8.5-9.5)

This form of filtered water is ideal for everyday use, and also suitable for drinking. Whether you’re looking for a refreshing cold beverage, a hot tea or coffee or making your own soup, the drinking Kangen Water is suitable for all these environments and can also be used to water the plants around the home.

Strong Kangen Water (pH 11.5)

This water is unsuitable for drinking and acts as an ecological cleaner in the home environment. This means that it can remove herbicides and pesticides from fruit and vegetables.

Suitable for the preparation of food and washing the dishes, this form of filtered water can kill bacteria that thrive in an acidic environment. You can also use this strong alkaline water to create an eco-friendly washing detergent for your clothes that’s free from phosphates.
