Wayne Channon, the Cells4Life chairman and Stabilitech Biopharma Ltd., has signed a deal this month with China’s National Academy of Science for £10 million, to ramp up work to find an oral vaccine for the coronavirus.
Influenza remains one of the world’s most deadly viral infections. Globally, seasonal influenza results in 3 to 5 million cases of severe illness, and about 290,000 to 650,000 respiratory deaths. Novel influenza outbreaks can be much worse, with the Spanish flu pandemic killing an estimated 50 million people worldwide.
In a recent interview done by Susan Flory – the Head of Communications for the All Party Parliamentary Group for Longevity (APPG), Wayne Channon discussed the development of the world’s first oral flu vaccine, which has the potential to save millions of lives. He also talked about the regenerative capacity of stem cells and how they may be used to extend average human lifespan.
He also explained how umbilical cord blood and tissue stem cells could be used in treatments for heart attacks, cardiovascular conditions, joint replacements and more.
